Millaz Productions Taka Taka by Howard Lumumba
From 4th to 6th March 2022
Have you ever wondered how life would have been for you if you laughed every weekend? Or maybe, if you were a bit happier in your skin. Maybe you are. But what about your environment? Does it allow you to get happy and wild – in a good way – offering you the opportunity to grow and flourish? Taka Taka written by Howard Lumumba and produced by Millaz Productions brings to mind such thoughts. Am I in a position to live my best life despite all the occurrences in my environment? More so in the political sphere?

The politics in our country may be regarded as a highly sensitive topic. Depending on one’s background and political opinion, friends may end up becoming frenemies simply because of differing opinions. Taka Taka brought to the forefront the perceivably hidden and “dirty” lives of our Kenyan politicians. Though satirical, Taka Taka employs adeptness both in the script as well as the performance thereof. It might as well be renamed, “The Secret Lives of Kenyan Politicians”. Maybe it could end up becoming a block buster.
Being the first event for The Lucrebag to do in partnership with Millaz Productions, it was evident that they are not only astronomically talented humans but also persons dedicated to growth and development through collaboration. Taka Taka was the “first” of many.
How could you even take a pass on such great comedy? Meet the star of the play on the left. Mr. Mhesh himself! Donning a Millaz Productions hoodie and randomly uttering some funny quip that has The Lucrebag’s team bursting into fits of laughter. Taka Taka is a drop down exhilarating show and the cast are simply A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.
I would definitely watch it again and over again if Millaz Productions were to ever perform a rehash.
